do you think obama will stifle freedom of press?
After ordering a tuna melt on 12-grain bread, Obama approached reporters and placed his hand on the shoulder of pool reporter Philip Rucker of The Washington Post, who was scribbling away in his notebook.
“You don’t really need to write all that down,” Obama said.
i know that his supporters will laugh this off but it sounds to me like good old fashioned chicago politics. the kind that will get you dead.
here’s the whole article…

No.
As fast as he can.
I don’t understand.
If Obama tries to stifle any freedom in the Constitution, there will be rioting in the streets.
If he actually said that to a reporter, it was probably a joke.
yea, sounds like a threat to me, not
Who gives a crap whether he ate a tuna melt, or a burger? He was blowing the guy off. I wouldn’t want to be tailed by reporters 24/7 either.
You’re in love with Obama
aren’t you
Barack is in your mind 24/7
I wonder you will get jealous of Michelle on valentines day
He’ll try, due to being so untruthful that he’ll have to try news suppression.
Good. Many of those reporters should be sleeping with the fishes already.
I highly doubt it. The media got him elected.
Obama will do everything in his power to shine a favorable light on himself.
Obama cannot handle criticism well.
Republicans have traditionally been a little tougher on this particular issue. The Bush Administration won’t supply e-mails to a Bush Library for historical study, for example.
Any President will be a little frustrated when in the bubble, but it sort of comes with the job. Obama will be OK with it eventually.
To late the corporate owners already have.
Ever see a critical report about any of them?
I suspect he only said that to the reporter because he recognized that no one would care what he had for lunch.
Wouldn’t you want this so called “liberal media” stifled?
LOL!!!!
Why would he stiffle them? They love him!
You really are jumping on something that isn’t there. Over a plate of food? Really, is it worth the paper and pen ink needed to write it?
oh yes he will, the change you can’t believe it, but obama isn’t saying anything
Of course. If people get to see all the gaffes he makes, he’d be exposed as the idiot he is. If Joe Plumber can make him look stupid, anyone can.
He will when he and his staff think he can do it and get away with it. You betcha. For most of the media it won’t matter anyway. They have never reported anything negative about that turd.
That instance was a joke. You sound paranoid…
Obama, being a Democrat, would never stifle freedom of press. That’s what Republicans might do.
You must have been out of school the day they explained the “distribution of powers” between the various parts of government; the President doesn’t have the ability to do ANYTHING unilaterally that cannot be undone by Congress (if they have the votes). If they DON’T have the votes, then maybe it’s not such a bad thing whatever he or she does…
He already has.
Yes he wants to shut up all the conservative talk radios and keep everyone under his little hitler thumb
I seriously doubt it. You shouldn’t believe everything you read in Mad Magazine….
Edit: I have heard that Bush has stifled the freedom of the press by not letting them wear shoes to any future conferences…
Absolutely! I’ve already seen articles here one day and gone the next.
The attempt to revive the poorly-named Fairness Doctrine will be his effort to stifle freedom of the press.
No.
